MOPAR has announced a national tour to showcase their new SRT lineup, dubbing this year’s tour the SRT High Performance Tour. Starting in Auburn Hills, Michigan—the headquarters of Chrysler—the tour will end at SEMA in Las Vegas, in November. The coolest part of their itinerary is the fact that it’s over 50% empty. That’s right, empty. That means they’ve intentionally left half of their time and itinerary blank for…you! If you have an event or function (think track day, car show, club meet, etc…) and you want the MOPAR crew to roll through and show some muscle, hit ’em up! Pretty cool. All you have to do is fill out a short form and write 100 words or less as to why you want the crew to come to you! Normally I’m not a fan of marketing, but somebody was really thinking when they came up with this tour, and the open ended options it encompasses.
The lineup will feature a 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, a 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, a 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8 and a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, which will also be towing an SRT-branded trailer, no doubt full of spare tires for the group which puts out a combined 1865 horsepower and
1865 lb-ft of torque through 32 cylinders. The Hemi Highway event last year drummed up a fair amount of interest showcasing the 2011 Challenger SRT-8 392 and Challenger R/T, that this year’s doubled lineup should be quite the show to see. If I were a betting man, I’d say there will be plenty of ride-alongs and some pretty cool people to talk to on the tour. Not to mention the cars, of course.
