If you drive a Chrysler or Dodge, take note: there is a recall in effect for the following models: 2010 Chrysler 300, 2010 Chrysler Sebring, 2010 Dodge Avenger, 2010 Dodge Challenger, 2010 Dodge Journey, and the 2011 Dodge Ram. Thankfully, the issue at hand, while it has potentially terrible consequences, is not terribly dire. The fire issue comes as result of a steering pressure hose assembly which has shown that it is prone to cracking or breaking. Because of its location and the nature of these cracks, it could potentially shoot power steering fluid in to hot engine components and result in a fire. The recall is in full effect, though, and that’s a good sign as it promotes that Chrysler is committed to correcting any errors it may have, free of charge. So, if you drive a Challenger, take it in to your local Dodge dealership and have this issue repaired before it becomes serious, free of charge. The recall will be in full effect before the end of October, so, it’s the perfect time to get this taken care of quickly and early.
